Glass Ballistic/Blast Resistant Products
Glass Clad Polycarbonate (GCP)
Glazing provides an effective barrier against attack from bullets and bomb blasts, preventing injury to those on the protected side of the glass. As a transparent glazing material, it offers visual clarity for observation, brings light into the space, and offers a 40% weight saving over all glass laminates. GCP resists scratching, marring, and weathering, provides all weather performance, and blocks harmful ultraviolet radiation. GCP is available as both a low spall and no spall product that can be tinted and is ideal for exterior use. GCP is designed to resist bullet penetration from a variety of small arms and rifle fire and provides Protection Levels I through VII. Two types of Glass Clad Polycarbonates are presented below: Ballistics Glass Clad Laminates, and Security Glass Clad Laminates.

Ballistics Glass Clad Laminates

This extremely durable and lightweight transparent armor is available either in flat sheets, or curved and can be cut to fit specific applications. Combining the hard surface of glass with the resilient toughness of Polycarbonate, Glass Clad systems are specially designed to defeat threats from high-powered firearms with low-spall or no-spall performance. These glass laminates meet NIJ and UL standards for bullet-resistant applications. Laminates are also manufactured to meet any other standard that may be required and are available in gray greens or bronze tints. The following surfaces can be provided:

· Tempered
· Heat strengthened
· Annealed
· Chemically tempered

Security Glass Clad Laminates

Security Glass Clad Laminates provide long-lasting protection against moderate ballistic and forced entry threats. The durability and versatility of these laminates make them a perfect choice for correctional facilities, courthouses, and government building, and corporate security applications. By altering thickness and composition (adding layers of glass, or Polycarbonate) Security Glass Clad Laminates can be customized to specific threat level requirements and are available in clear, gray, green, and bronzes (wire glass units also available). The following surfaces can be provided:

· Annealed
· Chemically tempered.
